La depressione tropicale 17 del Nord occidentale dell'Oceano Pacifico tifone si è evoluto in una tempesta tropicale di nome Sanba. NASA ha catturato immagini a infrarossi del Sanba che ha rivelato uno stretto bendaggio di forti temporali in tutto il centro.
Lo strumento Atmospheric Infrared Sounder ha catturato un'immagine termica delle temperature Immagini satellitari a infrarossi hanno rivelato che Sanba è diventato più organizzato, e ulteriormente rafforzato con strisce di temporali e avvolto più saldamente nel basso livello della circolazione .
